I've been in contact with a Twitter representative on behalf of a company I work for. Apparently Twitter calls businesses to convince them to advertise on their platform, yeah I didn't know that either before this happened.
I decided to go along with it since having an actual contact with Twitter might help in case ads are not performing well or I have any questions. After a few calls we decided a brand awareness campaign would be best (at least to start with) and the main goal would be to reach new audiences in the US.
This was decided after realising our Twitter following is quite local while most of our clients come from the US.
Either way, we have a few more calls and the Twitter rep suggests a budget of 500£ a month for this campaign. Now, the company I work for is quite small. We prefer to target fewer high-value customers rather than many low-value customers, he's talking about reaching millions with this campaign, but I think that's absolutely crazy.
He assured me a budget lower than that would cause the campaign to not work.
I have never advertised on Twitter. This was supposed to be me "testing the waters". I think it's crazy to dump 500£ for a single month of advertising on a platform that might not even have the audience I'm looking for.
Is spending max 100£ a month worthless? Or is this Twitter rep trying to squeeze me dry?
