Instagram wont let me log in - need help

Basically instagram says that it “detected an unusual login attempt” and has now locked me out of the account. It then redirects me to the page where I am supposed to enter the security code they send me via email but every time i do it says “sorry there was a problem please try again” I decided to change the password of the account, but even when logging in with the new password the account is still locked and no matter how many time I send a new code and try that code it still doesn’t work. I have been locked out for a week now and it’s kind of annoying at this point. I would be grateful for some help thanks 🙏🏼
